Brands Hatch Villagers' Day Raises Over £3,300 for Local Causes

The annual Brands Hatch Villagers' Day took place on Sunday 8 February, with local residents raising over £3,300 for local causes.

The event, open to anyone living within one mile of the circuit, offers visitors a chance to enjoy activities offered by the venue, in exchange for a small donation to charity.

Local residents were able to get behind the wheel of some of the circuit's driving experience vehicles including the BMW M3, Land Rover Defender and the venue's brand new Toyota GT86 rally car.

Other activities included passenger laps in a Caterham sports car, driven by an expert instructor, plus YoungDrive MINIs for visitors aged 11 to 17 to drive, and karting operated by Buckmore Park. Nearly 600 experiences were provided during the day.

A local cause will benefit from the funds raised. This will be chosen by the Brands Hatch Liaison Group, headed by MotorSport Vision's Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer.

Brands Hatch circuit manager Mike Groves commented: "It was great to see so many residents here at the weekend help raise money for local causes. Villagers' Day is a nice way to thank our neighbours for their continued support and I look forward to welcoming them back to the numerous major events at Brands Hatch this season."
